Been There Done That and Here We go Aagin

I thank God every day for my healthy children. I know that I would love my children regardless of if they were healthy or not, but I also know just a hint of how hard it is to have a sick child.

In 2008 Ashlynn was diagnosed with Dysfunctional Voiding after a full year of appointment after appointment, specialist after specialist, more testing than Marshal and I have experienced in our lifetime combined, and a total of $7,000 worth of out of pocket medical expenses. She was under the care of the Pediatric Urologist team at Oklahoma children's hospital for two years and was finally released back to regular pediatric care. We were of course thrilled and haven't looked back since.

Well that is until January of this year when some of those problems began resurfacing. I was hoping we could handle things with her pediatrician because I believe he is truly fabulous. However he is fabulous enough to know when something is out of his realm of expertise. So here we go again.

I know it won't be as grueling this time. We already know what is wrong. However, taking off work for trips to Tulsa and already coming home to three medical bills in one day kind of gets my tummy in knots.

Ultimately it is just the most helpless feeling in the world to know your child is hurting and all the powers in you can't take it away.

Love my sweet girl!
